On the road to success: our sponsored athlete Liv Bender wins two silver World Championship medals and triples as World Cup champion
We couldn’t be more proud of our athlete Liv Bender! In the last few weeks, she has once again shown what can be achieved with discipline, passion and strong willpower. Two international tournaments and several titles – Liv inspires us not only with her sporting achievements, but also with her positive energy and tireless commitment.
As a reminder, Liv is super successful in her weight class up to 45 kg. In 2023, she was already the proud two-time world champion (WMAC – World Martial Arts Committee) and German champion in each of the four major associations (WMAC/WKU/WFMC/ISKA). In 2024, she again fought in the -45 kg category.
Two Vice World Champion Titles on Rhodes (Greece)
At the WKU World Championships on Rhodes, Liv competed in the Kick Light and Light Contact -45 kg categories. Despite a health setback shortly before the fights, she fought her way through with incredible determination. Round after round, she fought convincingly against strong opponents from England, Northern Ireland and Russia and made it to the final in both categories. There she met an experienced fighter from Wales, who she had to admit defeat to after a hard fight. With two silver medals and a lot of respect from her fellow competitors, Liv returned as a two-time vice world champion.
Her conclusion: “I gave everything and I am proud of what I have achieved. Now I am looking forward to competing for the title at next year’s World Championships in Trier – in front of my home crowd!”
Triple World Cup Champion in Bregenz (Germany)
Just a few weeks later, Liv traveled to Bregenz for the WMAC World Cup. There, she once again exceeded all expectations: She confidently secured the world championship title in two categories, despite a spontaneous upgrade to the next higher weight class. But that wasn’t all: When the opportunity for an additional fight arose, Liv didn’t say no and won that too – and thus her third title at this tournament.
